PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE TO THE GROUP:

Message from the President

6/30/2008

Hello everyone,

As you know there is no membership fee for the CVIUG and we will strive to keep all costs to a minimum if at all. Mine and Keith’s time in this is voluntary and my place of business (per sponsorship) will supply a meeting room and pickup incidentals for attended meetings (snacks, drinks, lunch). We will try working with other Northern California groups to bring value to your educational decisions although geography pretty much dictates what we can accomplish (Stockton-Modesto, Fresno, Bakersfield, Sacramento) I will keep you informed and make available what you need.

IBM has offered their assistance to help with future discussions related to technical areas in the iSeries / Power Systems environments. Together, Keith Gaudsmith and I will work on events and table top discussions related to subjects your looking for in very cost effective ways such as webinars and teleconferences.

We can have Rochester virtually at the table while they are still in Rochester so they can bring in other resources if they would be needed for any discussion. We might be able to hold meetings regionally depending on what IBM can offer.

All we have to do is come up with some topics and ask IBM to get involved.

It’s that simple.

Over the upcoming weeks I would like you to tell us what you want to know more about.

Please respond to the following email address for your input:

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve the CVIUG. I promise to do my best to bring the members information that can help you in your day to day working environments in a cost effective manner.
